What do you think of this guitar? (seeking experience or expert opinions)?
Im looking for a new guitar, something better than this yamaha pacifica I've been playing, but I don't have a bunch of money, was looking to spend about $400-$500. I saw this Fender Telecaster on ebay, it looks great, has dual 59' humbuckers. The price was surprisingly cheap, so I asked and found out it was made in Korea, not USA. But what do you think? I heard the mexican fenders are pretty good, what do you think of this guitar and it being made in Korea. Good deal, good guitar or PASS. I like it, but very hesitant.

Or what would you get with that budget. I want something with close action, strong tone, and good sustain. fav tones = jimi, mars volta, radiohead, jack white, tool
I wouldnt get that thiong if I were you....
Firstly, at your level of development, you should never ever buy anything that you haven't played with your own hands.
Secondly, if its made in Korea, it's likely a Squier. If he says it isn't I would need proof. Fender Americans are made in Corona, CA and Fender Standards are made in Ensenada, Mexico. This dude says it's just like an Aerodyne? Well, they were made in Japan and didnt quite look like that. The 59 Seymours are no big deal. The whole setup makes me suspicious. Besides, if you want a Tele that bad, why spend $375 on that thing sight unseen when You Can go down to GC and buy a brand new Fender MIM Telecaster for sometimes as low as $399 when they are having a big sale. I would pass on that ebay guitar
if you are really attracted to the lookof that ebay guitar though, try this guitar. It's not a Fender, but it is excellent... http://www.guitarcenter.com/Schecter-PT-Standard-Electric-Guitar-513042-i1147944.gc I have a 1982 Mike Giffon version of it that was said to be formerly owned by Pete Townshend, and it's the best guitar I ever owned.
If I were you, I think I would keep it simple. Go down to guitar center and pick out a new MIM Strat or Tele. You can get a great one for $500. The MIM's are good and will last. I have earned my living in music for 25 years, and have played LOTS of mexican Fenders.
That kid below me who said Fenders have a high action has no clue what he is talking about. Whatever you buy, spend the extra 60 bucks and have a good tech do a real set up on it.
