Would Putting New Items On your Old gutiar Affect its Value?
Say if i bought new Chrome Tuning pegs fo my Yamaha 1970's Acoustic Guitar affect its value as a collecters item/Its sound or appearance?
Yes, but not always upwards. If you have a collectable instrument, a collector will want it as original as possible. Changing parts will therefore reduce its value for a collector. For a player, it may increase the value - if you have put new tuners on and it helps the guitar to stay in tune longer, that will increase the amount a player would play for the guitar - but not by the amount you paid for the tuners. I would not recommend buying new parts for a guitar you intend to sell, as either way you will not recoup what you spend.
As to how new parts will affect the sound of the guitar, well that is difficult to predict.
