Well, personally the thing about guitars is, I myself just recently bought a new guitar after 7 years of my very first guitar i had and still looks like when i bought it. Best thing to do is, if you have a guitar now and havent been playing it alot play it some for a few years. But if you don't i rememend going to:

its the best place to buy a guitar. I just recently bought an Ovation. You just have to make it the guitar sounds good and feels comfortable with your body when you stand up and sit. And that you are trying hard to get your fingers to the frets. Need a guitar that is comfortable with you and your body.
