Help picking out Guitar Strings? (electric, SG)?
First of all, what's the difference in Gauge size do? I see 9's 10's 11's, etc. What's the difference?
Is pure Nickel Strings better?
And what's the best out of these?

I don't play a specific genre, and I don't play very much. Maybe a few times a week.
I have Boomers on right now and I hate them... Actually leaning towards the Elixirs. They have great reviews.
String gauge is simply the thickness of the string. Determining what size 'works' for you, not to mention the brand, is a strictly personal thing, no different than the age old question of boxers v. briefs. Neither is 'right', there's just the type & brand that feels best. Personally I like Boomers, but if they don't work for you, well, go pick another brand. Just know:
1)If you've got the $$ to burn, buy a few sets, each of different brands & sizes. Try them and go with what works for you. But!
2)Strings take a bit to a) set in, and b) wear out. Give a particular set a few days before giving it a yay or nay. Either way, if you only play every so often you're gonna be stuck w/ a particular set til they wear out. But if you've got $$$ to burn, if you get tired with a set long before then, then take 'em off & go with another.
These days, though, the only thing I could think of not minding if I burn through 'em are picks. And that's only b/c they usually go for several per dollar.
