I'm looking to buy a new Electric Guitar amp and i was wondering what amp is for me?
Iove classic and Hard Rock like Guns and Roses, ACDC, Led Zeppelin, and Van Halen are my favourite bands.
Should i get a peavey vypyr 75w $299.99
or a Bandit 112 for 249.99
(prices i found at a local music shop) or maybe should i get a line 6 or a marshall
there are 2 things to consider when trying to get an amp .. and those are power and tone.
most of those amps have heads integrated into them so as far as the tone goes, thats what you need to consider. peavey, line 6 and marshall all have distinctive tones You Can get out of them. thats why a studio will have a lot of different little cabs for you to play on. they are all different. find out which one gives the tone palette you're looking for because you'll be "stuck" with it for a long time.
2nd is power. are you going to play with a band ? 75w isnt going to cut it. 300w will be too much for practicing alone.
when its all said and done, there's no better amp or better way to go, every unit out there is quality and will last you for years. Peaveys are tanks. my dad bought me a bravo 110 when i was 12 and that amp is still rocking at my brother's place 13 years later. it got me thru countless gigs in high school and thru college.
whatever you pick, if it has enough power and fits the tones you will be using then you have not gone wrong
