What kind of Marshall Amp should I get?
I have a Strat and am thinking about getting a 30w but don't know what kind to get or even a Mesa Boogie or a peavey just voice your opinion. I have a line 6 spider III that I think sucks. Anyways I'm into all kinds of rock. Also what is your opinion on a Line 6 pocket POD?
Well, it depends on what you are going to use it for....Are you just going to practice with it? then 30w is enough for most Rock. If you are going to jam with others, you might want more wattage, or if you play distortion or feedback-heavy music, then you might want to go up to 100w minimum....if you want an amp to play gigs, you might even want more wattage than that, many amps now go all the way up 300w, 600w, even over 1000w ! ...It all depends on how you are going to use it. Narrow down a few amps you might want for the kind of music, look up reviews on sites like Guitar Center and Musicians Friend, then choose...All those brands are good, look for specific features you need, and check and compare prices...remember, if you are short of $$ there are a lot of "scratch and dent' amps at those sites, play fine but look a bit worn, and cost a lot less....I cant speak of the Pocket Pod, never used one...Good luck and have fun with the amp!
