how do i make my strat like guitar sound like metal?
It's got great playability, good action, gold hardware, locking headstock, neck-thru design, a fast bound ebony fretboard, and a deep metallic maroon color. It has a Floyd Rose Tremolo as well! also has Jeff Beck Fender Hot Noiseless Strat pickups. how do i make it sound more like metal? hss config? anything
I agree with Norm except for the pickups. I've never been a huge fan of swapping out pickups because in most cases that I have experienced first hand, there was not that much of a difference if only the pickups were changed. Before you go through the headache and expense of doing that you might try a different guitar effects processor or preamplifier first. You don't mention your amp and effects so, unless you are playing through a Mesa Boogie Double-Rectifier or an ENGL Invader, you are already lacking in the metal department. So, lets try to fix that first. Your primary amp is probably great for a clean sound and even it if isn't you're looking for distortion and overdrive anyway so lets focus on getting more of that.
I have played an American Standard Strat (no special anything) through my live sound set up and I was able get almost any distortion sound I wanted even the darker metal distortion tones. Now granted, I can get a different distortion sound out of other guitars, that were built for metal, but the distortion that the Strat produced, was very impressive. Here is what I would suggest you try first. Get a BOSS guitar effects processor (which ever one You Can afford to start with). ME-20, ME-70 or the GT-10 (my choice). Here is what they sound like:

Now keep in mind that the distortion tones you hear on the demo videos can be varied further by tone and overdrive settings on the same Effects Pedal. So, if you need a deeper sounding distortion, add more bass tone in the EQ and for a more pronounced distortion you can always boost the overdrive in the same effects pedal without having to buy another pedal to tweak your sound.

As you can tell, the effects processors and the ENGL preamp are capable of producing some pretty awesome distortion and while it sounds slightly different depending on what guitar you are using, in my experience about 80% of the sound comes from the effects, preamp and speakers. The power amp simply adds clean volume to the mix and the guitar amounts for about 20% of the sound.
If I were you, I would take my guitar to the nearest guitar effects dealer, and sit down and play all three of the BOSS effects processors through headphones and see if that gives you the sound you are looking for. You might also try the Mesa Boogie Double-Rectifier amp with your guitar. Then decide if you really need a change in your pickups.
