Do i need a mattress pad for a memory foam mattress?
hi, in a couple of days my new memory foam mattress will arrive at my house and i was just wondering if i need a mattress pad or topper to put on top of it or memory foam mattresses dont need it.... easy ten points and thanks!
A memory foam mattress should not need a topper on it, assuming you bought one of quality.
What you will want though, is a foundation to support the mattress. Consider a Pragma Bed Platform for good support.
The way a foam mattress works is to have a foundation support the mattress, an interior 'stiffener' to support the memory foam, and the memory foam to support your body. You Can see a good visual of this at http://www.raisedqueenairbed.net/visit-the-airbed-superstore/product/B000RLJ5K8/.
Adding a mattress pad (not a topper) does make sense. This reduces the friction wear on the foam top layer, prevents soiling, and helps the mattress last longer. These are the same fitted mattress pads you'd use on a regular mattress. Just make sure the pockets (corners) are deep enough for the mattress, since most foam mattresses are deeper than standard mattresses.
Hope this helps!
memory foam and firm foam mattress pad topper provides proper sleep support and comfort.
