It is a common debate among guitarists: What is better, acoustic or electric? There are many different views on the type of guitar, you should start in, and both have their valid points. But the truth is not really better than another, and depend heavily on the unit itself and what it intends to do with the guitar.
Here are some details about them, help make a better decision.
Acoustics
Usually known as the "classic" the guitar world, many people choose to start learning on an Acoustic Guitar because of the clear voice and sound, which can make it much easier to learn. Because is hollow, has a buzz a little clearer when you press the strings, which can be great for beginners. It is also much lighter and therefore easier to keep and use.
It is made with six strings, which are all steel, so that every note, though different in tone, sound like. This allows you to distinguish easily between the agreements and will help you learn to play the songs without the need for more amp distortion, which may be one of the disadvantages of an electrical installation. However, the loud sound is also less effective in time to start learning music, because it is far more suitable for music background, rather than retail.
Electric
When playing an Electric Guitar unplugged, can be difficult to hear the notes, so it is more difficult to learn without an amplifier. However, because it is a solid instrument, the sound is much clearer, once connected, and the neck is much easier drinking. The strings are lighter, so it will be less finger pain and calluses.
