Bass guitar head and neck heavier than body...?
Is this normal and, if not, how can I fix it? I have a lot of trouble playing quick notes with it. When I just take away my hands and have my Guitar Strap on my shoulders, the neck goes down to the ground and the body raises. Basically, I have to hold up the neck with my right hand, which I also have to use the play notes.
There isn't really much You Can do unless you put a counterweight on the body. Maybe putting strap locks on it will help a little. Most basses are designed to have a heavier body so that the neck will be up at an angle for easier playing. Are you by any chance playing an Epiphone Thunderbird? They have a reputation for being off-balanced.
