Need help with PHP and MySQL Database Website?

I'm not too familiar with php and mysql but what i want is to have a page where i could display the following information:

Artist | Song | Performer | Season

And I want people to be able to sort them by artist, song, performer or season. But ultimatley what i want to create is a master songbook for American Idol. All the songs that the contests have sung and be able to sort them on a site.

If possible I'd like to be able to have a template to be able to insert the data and place it into a database.

Is this possible? I do not have any experice with php.

Possible? Yes. Easy? Hahahahahah! No.

If you're not familiar with PHP and MySQL you're basically saying, "I can put together an Ikea bookshelf. How do I build a house?"

My recommendation would be to look into an open source content management system, which is what you would have to build yourself. I'm a big fan of Symphony CMS. I also hear great things about Text Pattern. Joomla and Drupal are also worth a look. If you're considering more of a blog-style then get WordPress as there's nothing like it even if you were paying.
