I have heard great things about D'Addario XL Prosteels strings. However, noticing that they are at the top of the brightness scale, they didn't seem right. But, it says they give you the tone that steel players crave....That would be any electric bass player. So, I need to know: Sice I play fingerstyle funk and reggae, are these right for me? Reggae is so mellow I would think the brightness would throw off the feel, but maybe not. As for funk, I'm kind of new to it, but it's one of my favorite styles... Anyway, are XL Prosteels right for funk and reggae?
